For someone who loves reading, a visit might mean discussing a chapter or reading aloud. For a music lover, it could be building a playlist and sharing the stories behind favorite songs.
A few things to consider
- List two or three interests your loved one would like to share.
- Include preferred language and conversation style in your inquiry.
- Ask your loved one which activities they would like to try again.
What if my loved one mainly wants someone to talk with?
That is a meaningful reason for companionship. A visit does not need to be busy to be valuable. Conversation, active listening, and simply spending time together are central to our service.
Companionship for adults age 60 and older
Joy Visits serves people age 60+. The age requirement applies to the person receiving visits. Family members and other authorized contacts of any adult age may inquire on their behalf.
What a companionship visit can include
Conversation, reading, music, games, shared hobbies, and simple help connecting with family through video calls or photographs. A visit is shaped by what the senior enjoys and chooses to participate in. See our companionship services for more detail.
Planning visits in Fullerton
We are accepting clients. The regular rate is $75 per hour; the discounted rate is $40 per hour with a two-hour minimum ($80 per visit). Availability, activities, and service arrangements are confirmed before visits begin. An inquiry is not a booking.
Is companionship the right kind of support?
Social companionship is intended for connection and shared activities. It does not replace nursing, therapy, personal care, or continuous supervision. If an older adult needs help with bathing, toileting, transfers, medication, or staying safe alone, a different provider may be appropriate.
