Start with a favorite photograph, a familiar song, or a cup of tea. A first visit can be as simple as getting to know one another, without a full schedule of activities.

My parent is hesitant about having a visitor. How should we start?
Involve them in the decision. Describe the actual activity they might enjoy, ask permission for an introduction, and keep the first meeting low pressure. A senior’s preferences and consent come first.
Companionship for adults age 60 and older
Joy Visits serves people age 60+. The age requirement applies to the person receiving visits. Family members and other authorized contacts of any adult age may inquire on their behalf.
What a companionship visit can include
Conversation, reading, music, games, shared hobbies, and simple help connecting with family through video calls or photographs. A visit is shaped by what the senior enjoys and chooses to participate in. See our companionship services for more detail.
Planning visits in Placentia
We are accepting clients. The regular rate is $75 per hour; the discounted rate is $40 per hour with a two-hour minimum ($80 per visit). Availability, activities, and service arrangements are confirmed before visits begin. An inquiry is not a booking.
Is companionship the right kind of support?
Social companionship is intended for connection and shared activities. It does not replace nursing, therapy, personal care, or continuous supervision. If an older adult needs help with bathing, toileting, transfers, medication, or staying safe alone, a different provider may be appropriate.
